Breads!

I have finally made real bread - and it was good!!!

First, I made a home made whole wheat artisan boule today - well, I made enough dough for 4 loaves, but only baked one today.  The glorious thing is that the dough is good for 2 weeks in the fridge - so I have 3 more loaves waiting to be made!!!

Then, I made my own cornbread from scratch to go with my turkey chili we had going in the slow cooker all day.  This one I am really proud of!

1c organic corn meal
1c organic whole grain pastry flour
1t baking soda
3/4 kosher (or coarse sea) salt
1/4c honey
2 eggs, beaten
1c greek yogurt (I used honey, but plain would work too)
1/2c unsweetened applesauce

preheat oven to 400 degrees F
Mix first 4 ingredients together, add next 4.  Mix until moist - but don't over-mix!
Pour batter into sprayed 8x8 baking dish
Drizzle honey over the top
Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes

Delish!

Who doesn't love jewelry???

So, although I haven't posted in a few days, I've been busy cooking and celebrating birthdays - lots of fun! But early this morning I finished a beautiful necklace for a friend and I am pretty flippin' excited about it!  I haven't been able to dedicate much time to Sweet Bead & Co. lately, so this felt truly rewarding!  I hope she likes it - if so, it will make a few appearances this month - Heart Month, and our busiest at work!  It is a triple strand, freshwater pearl necklace with an adjustable sterling hook and eye clasp - that way, she can wear it short or long-ish.  Options, you have to have options!
